Our story

About us and our herd

Welcome to Elshof Alpaca’s. My name is Caroline Janssen and I am delighted that you would like to get to know us and our alpacas. Our small alpaca farm is located in Malden, on the edge of Nijmegen, and is named after the nearby De Elshof estate from the last century.

How it all began

In 2020, my husband and I were looking for animals for our meadows, where the grass constantly needed mowing. By chance we ended up at an alpaca breeder, and we were immediately taken with these curious, woolly and gentle animals.

After making the right preparations, we were able to welcome our first two females: Inca and Bibi. Inca was pregnant at the time.

Since then we have grown further, and today we lovingly care for our own herd of alpacas on our land. Further down this page we introduce them to you.

Would you like to know more about our alpacas, or come and visit? That is certainly possible. The alpaca activities are a hobby alongside my job, however, so visiting times depend on my work schedule. Check the booking calendar to see which days and times are available.
